Glue up begins


Start mixing the epoxy. One pump resin, one pump hardener. Mix thoroughly. Its a slow process the resin flows like tree sap and ten times as sticky. Do not get it on your skin.







I fill in each seam, created by the overlap of the strakes, with epoxy.
This type of construction is called Lapstrake and is a traditional method of boat building. Traditionally the laps are joined by rivets or  nails over bent wood ribs. Also know as 'clinker'. The glue








I need some sort of covering to protect the boat from the rain and me from the sun. Also the trees are raining down seeds and they are getting in the epoxy. So a 10 x10 canopy that covers half and then some tarps.
